“Owner and Pastry Chef, Stephanie Smith, worked in a retail pharmacy for 15 years and enjoyed home-baking as a hobby. Inspired by her time baking with her grandmother, she decided to pursue her passion for baking. She studied culinary pastry and baking at Wake Technical College in Raleigh, NC. She continued to develop her approach to baking by working for various bakeries and kitchens in the Southeast, which ultimately led to her starting her own baking endeavor.
At Sweetsmith, our goal is to provide sophisticated small desserts and snacks using local ingredients at accessible prices.”
“I’m excited to offer you a twist on some timeless cookies, as well as some that I have created myself.
Classic cookies are my passion and I have crafted each recipe with you in mind. I had my own bakery for 8 years in Colorado, before we made the big move to the Upstate. The memories of that bakery, the cookies I baked, the people I met. That has furthered my passion and propelled me to open a bakery here in South Carolina.”
